Beaches

Ojochal is a great place for people looking to relax on the beach. Top local seaside attractions include Playa Ventanas, a beach named for the sea caves at its northern and southern ends; Playa Tortuga, which can only be accessed at low tide; Playa Piñuela, which has a small reef off the coast; Playa Ballena, which is ideal for people learning how to surf; and Playa Uvita, which is famous for its pristine beauty.


National parks

Travelers can also use el Buena Vista as a base for exploring some of the many national parks and reserves scattered throughout the area. At Corcovado National Park, tourists can see an astoundingly diverse array of plants and animals, while Marino Ballena National Park is known for its gorgeous coral reefs and the many whales and dolphins that swim in the waters off the shore. Manuel Antonio Park contains a charming combination of rain forest, beaches and coral reefs
